Santa Cruz is the old Jewish Quarter with the Cathedral, Alcázar, and maze-like cobblestone streets. Safe during the day but gets dark and empty at night. Tourist-heavy with matching prices, though the location puts you close to the main sights.
Triana is across the river with deep flamenco roots and local dining scene. Safe and more residential than the tourist center. Good market, active riverfront, and better prices. Less English but worth it if you want something more authentic.
El Arenal is the upscale riverside area between Santa Cruz and the bullring. Safe, good English availability, active evening scene. Moderate to high prices. Good option if you want something more polished than the tourist center but still central.
La Alameda de Hércules is the bohemian nightlife area with alternative bars, diverse food, and LGBTQ+ friendly venues. Safe when busy but stick to the main plaza late at night. Better prices than tourist areas. Good if you want a younger, creative scene.
La Macarena is a traditional residential area with deep religious heritage and local dining. Safe during the day, quiet and isolated at night. Limited English and no tourist infrastructure. Good for authentic local life and affordable food if you don't mind the language barrier.
Centro/Encarnación is the modern center around Las Setas landmark. Central location, balanced mix of tourist and local. Safe, some English, walkable to everything. Prices fall between tourist and local areas. Good base if you want accessibility without being stuck in the tourist zone.
